Bandra-Worli Sea Link

Because i do not have a photoblog, and don’t wish to have one, i share with you, my friendly blog readers, the photos here.. as you must have already observed..! :)

So this is about the much awaited ride on the Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link that connects the two of the busiest places of the city.. Bandra and Worli… and does so extending along the Mahim Creek.

The photos are not at par with the expectations because- one: They are taken from a car… in motion.. two: Winds blew brutally so i was scared camera slipping off my hand.. three: it was RAINING!!

Googling can give you much better views and pics, i admit ! But these have come out of my camera, so i have an inherent right of sharing them… :)

The Welcome board at the Bandra-End of the Link.. There are controversies on with the name given… .. .. who cares !! :P

not to forget mentioning- this was the 25th of july.. designated to be ‘the day with second largest high tide..’

Takes you away, although for five min and 6km, from the chaotic city… A ride, worthwhile…

There lies the Mahim, Dadar, Bandra… the Mahim creek along which this is constructed…

it was that dark …. but a pleasant weather !!

The Mahim Creek…

The toll plaza, that’s at the Bandra-end of the link… We were crazy enough to buy a return ticket. :P hehe.. we started from Worli to Bandra… n then back from Bandra to Worli

pic taken from inside the car…

TAJ Lands End, Bandra… This too at the bandra-end of the link.

…..

again. taken from the car..

You just cant stop wondering about the Engineering… !

The another 4 lanes of the link are still under construction…

Goodnight/day!!!

A Relief from Reality called ‘Lectures’

114861696BHptXi_fs

Some days of our lives are worth a rubric, not only coz they are out-of-the-ordinary in the way they are consumed but also coz of their circumstantial occurrence.

Today was the second Monday since reopening of my college… and lectures aren’t on in full roll yet…2weeks, and just 2lectures… ! Today ie-Monday, after the 9-11 lecture of FEM, (Finite Element Method, or something close to that :P ) ( Fyi- 9-11 denotes the duration of lecture) making ourselves oblivious to lectures further, we all decided to go out and have fun. Not to forget, it was also the birthday of my friend, not permitted to put name.. : )

It all started with a treat at Naturals’ (just next to the college) ofcourse from the birthday girl…(A Must Mention- try out CoffeeWalnut at NATURALS :) !!!) Thereafter, advancing to Dadar station by hiring a taxi… boarding on a local, we “customarily” went to the Marine Drive…... it was raining extremely heavily, plus there were these tides mounting high enough to soar beyond us! 40-45 mins at marine drive…….. a walk along the shore......... clothes outright saturated by water from tides and rains… it was a perfect afternoon spent… although it hardly seemed an afternoon …. Thanks to the overcast skies and breakneck winds…. And the ‘nowadays-sleepy’ sun of Mumbai… :D

Going to South Mumbai and eating in McDonald’s is a ritual followed by me till date… hehe.. Consequently, keeping with the tradition, we all went to Colaba McDonald’s after some window shopping at the Causeway : )

What I regret is, yet again, I didn’t have the digicam with me as we fled directly from college to Charni Road.. (therefore, this post is pics-less) (I’ll get them soon from a friend of mine who had this cell with a respectable camera :P ) But, what makes this escapism to be more satisfying is the fact that we absconded from having to attend the lectures which, I still don’t know, were conducted or not… : )

Its 5pm as I write this… but will be posting at night… as I have now opted for a night-unlimited plan : ) (which is a mistake I guess, now)

PS- The pic above … Courtesy-Internet… ….Those taken by us, will be put up later…

Goodnight/day!!!

Of friendships and relationships.........

They welcomed me on the Earth today when finally I gained some perspective of what-FB-actually-is … Funny, innit? : P : P ….. hehe…Whatever : )…….
This thing, dunno what to call it, is kinda making my brain face some major turbulent-thinking-disorder wherein it tends to think in a dire complicated manner and in the end fails to perform effectively in stretching to the conclusion. Its about Friendships and relationships… and their inter-conversion and de-conversion … :P
I’ll elaborate on this when I myself get some concrete standpoint : ) for now, I’d say friendship is the purest of all relationships! and never lose a friend out of senseless tagging-of-relationship business.
Goodnight/day!

I hate myself for loving you -- Songs I like #3

Midnight, gettin' uptight. Where are you?
You said you'd meet me, now it's quarter to two
I know I'm hangin' but I'm still wantin' you.
Hey, Jack, It's a fact they're talkin' in town.
I turn my back and you're messin' around.
I'm not really jealous, don't like lookin' like a clown.

I think of you ev'ry night and day.
You took my heart, n you took my pride away.

I hate myself for loving you.
Can't break free from the things that you do.
I wanna walk but I run back to you,
that's why I hate myself for loving you.

Daylight, spent the night without you.
But I've been dreamin' 'bout the lovin' you do.
I won't be as angry 'bout the hell you put me through.
Hey, man, bet you can treat me right.
You just don't know what you was missin' last night.
I wanna see your face and say forget it just from spite.

I think of you ev'ry night and day.
You took my heart, then you took my pride away.

I hate myself for loving you .
Can't break free from the things that you do.
I wanna walk but I run back to you,
that's why I hate myself for loving you...

Untitled

No updates, no posts of late as I’m home now. Our car driver has left the job and now its me, yeah right, the unpaid-car-driver. Blame Mom for the redundancy on this blog :P coz I have to be with her all the way through the day :

Holidays aren’t as exciting yet, as people here are still busy with their exams.
Btw Btw, it was a “ :O ” reaction when I encountered the new CCD opened at the PVR. That means A’bad now has 3 of them. :O …….. :P

On the other front, it’s a long wait for the results… I just hope they sail me safely in Java.

On the yet another front, I’m trying to get my permanent license : ( (with weary eyes)

On the yet yet another front its about movie that I recently watched, ‘Mi Chhatrapati Shivaji Bhosale Boltoy’ (such a huge name)! But a must watch for each Maharashtrian!
(READ: Maharashtrians NOT Marathi !!) I’m not willing to give any review of it, coz most of you have either already watched it (and discussed about it all the way home from theatre) , and the remaining most of you must be disposed to watch it (so I don’t wanna nag you with a comprehensive review)… : )

All its comparisons with Munnabhai and maxim that, it’s a Marathi edition of it of another kind is all false. I tell ya, this one goes much better than Munnabhai : )

A well-balanced and unprejudiced movie is all that I can say about it.

AHEM AHEM, MNS!!!

AHEM AHEM, Shiv Sena!!!

To everybody else,
Goodnight/day!! : )

Lal Bahadur Shastriji…

The discussion was about the present scenario that our nation is facing and the present leadership that it has. The comparison that follows in this post will be a certain injustice but still worth a do. The Lok Sabha Elections have cleared in, ‘talk-to-the-hand’ thing’s up, the most significant win has come up for Indian Congress, but is it a win? Considering the fact that only 47% (or 49%something) people in the country voted to this effect. Glory be! That’s not my point of discussion though, it’s the leadership! Today, we have Dr. Singh as our P.M. But is he, or for that matter, anybody after Hon. Lal Bahadur Shastriji is as devoted for the nation?

Man who took moral responsibility of the train accident that claimed 160 lives in TN and therefore resigned in 1956 during his occupancy as the Railway Minister, was certainly a man of principles. Nehru had once said, "No one could wish for a better comrade than Lal Bahadur, a man of the highest integrity and devoted to ideas". A man of principles and values as he was, started the Green Revolution and the White Revolution in the country for the increased productivity. Today’s men, I hate to call them people’s representatives, have sold their scruples. After the Mumbai terror attacks, it took some shoving and cajoling to make them realize their inabilities, which then led to their resignations, which certainly didn’t come out of what they felt guilty of, but out of the fear of losing the vote banks.

How much do we know about this leader? How much do we know about his murder? How much do we know about what Indira Gandhi was all about? How much do we know about this man, who took pride and honor in serving the nation, no matter if that could claim his life? How much do we know about this PM who actually visited the site of live war between India and Pakistan in 1965, where he approved all authority to the force and said, “The force will be met with a force.” Only after UN demanded a ceasefire was the war stopped and that showed the amount of aggression this man of mild-manners had !

Today’s scenario demands a leader of that quality. What Lal bahadur Shastriji has done for the nation is unparalleled! And today’s fellow leaders are not even worth being his watchmen! What today’s so-called-leaders want is Power, Vote bank, stupid publicity and ofcourse MONEY! How immaterial has the politics grown in a country called India, one of the largest democracies! In our tender ages, we studied in civics, ‘Democracy is Government by the people for the people blah blah…..’ but its only today that we realize what it means ‘Buy the people, form the people’.

When we talk all about Shastriji, we can’t wait to mention about his mysterious death.. We had won the 1965 war, (UN forced to ceasefire), We went to Russia to discuss the ceasefire and what we got? PM’s dead body! We had almost tore Pak apart but this death/murder of Shastriji still holds an anger in our hearts, many unanswered questions, answers to which even the succeeding PM- Indira Gandhi didn’t bother to find. This thing, though, was not hyped by media, as against even the most insignificant of things blown outta proportion! Several theories that go about his death are as under-

  1. Shastriji wanted to send Indira Gandhi to England as the new High Commissioner (in a recent book by one of the secretaries of cabinet level). To not let this happen, she conspired against him. Can’t dismiss this possibility so easily because she is also accused to have conspired of her own son’s death. She was an overt and highly ambitious lady.
  2. CIA was behind Shastri’s murder. Don’t know how true this might be, but lets not deny the fact completely either.
  3. According to the Soviet sources, a glass of milk was bought for Shastri by personal servant of Indian Ambassador TN Kaul. This personal servant, Jan Mohammad, was never questioned or interrogated by any one in the Soviet Union or in India despite his being the prime suspect. This is indeed mystifying, because just after consuming milk Shastri complained of “pain in the chest” and “difficulty in breathing.” Thereafter the Prime Minister slipped into coma. The Soviet doctors were called in and they declared him dead
  4. There was no proper medical report stating the cause of his death. The Indian Govt. didn’t even try to obtain one. It’s shameful of India to have gulped down the insult this big so easily by Indian people, the Congress, The Indira Gandhi!!! Again making us re-deem in point 1. It’s a shame for all of us that we don’t even know about a prime minister who has given India a status in international showground after independence!!
  5. USSR wanted a government which it could use and abuse during cold war. Lal Bahadur Shastri wanted to remain neutral which was against soviet interest.
  6. Some theories establish that he died of the third cardiac arrest after having survived the first two.

After Everything is Said and Done, there’s much more to be said than Done!

we can come up with as many reasons as possible.. but what makes blood inside me boil is the very inactivity of the media in making this issue a major one. Maybe Congress influence, Maybe Indira influence. What I feel is, today’s India would’ve been very different if we had him alive. Even today if a full enquiry is carried out, little would come out, but all Congress greats will shiver!

There are only few things that make us proud of this Country. And in that small list Shastriji earns a well deserved place. Murder, natural death, nobody knows. But he was somebody who could have done even more considering the money spent on the defense budget that could have gone into better areas. But we have to live with what we have. And what we have?

That I leave for you to think……..

On a very somber note,

Goodnight/day

6 / 7 = 0.5

Half my Exam’s over.
ie 6 papers over out of 7 : )

Not that I’m bad at ratios, : ), just that, the one which is left is JAVA PROGRAMMING, of which I know only the spelling (not quite sure of that either though!) Too much to prepare, too much to understand, and in the end, hardly anything to be able to produce in the paper.

In my Engineering days, most difficult subjects that I have faced have been of programming. And therefore the conclusion that, I have the weakest programming brain. Hehe.
So in that way, half my exams are over, the next half finishes on 20th, soon! A 100 marks paper of Java, 3 hrs of sitting-and-doing-nothing, and a life full of ‘why-din’t-I-study JAVA’ guilt!!!

Now talking about the First half of exam, ie, Dynamics, Design, Management, IC engines, Control Systems, Refrigeration and Air conditioning. Yeah, the first half! Was good. Not too good though.. But then what can I expect from a ‘Procrastinator’-me.

That’s an update from my side.
Will soon be back after my exam’s completely done with.

Goodnight/day!

Vodafone Zoozoo Ads

zoo1

WELCOME TO EARTH !!! If you have not watched the Vodafone’s Zoozoo ads.

Gone are the days when people used to switch channel during commercial breaks.. Especially this IPL season, yes, the IPL sponsor Vodafone’s famous new series of advertisements is creating a sway all over..

Attracted 30,000 users on FaceBook, and still counting. What’s so special about these ads is these Creatures, who come from a different world and speak an unidentifiable language… endorsing Vodafone’s wide range of services and products in their own innocent-smart way! : )

zoo2

For all those who, even for a moment, thought that these are animated, read on- here’s a revelation/disclosure… These are real people wearing white costumes. Ogilvy & Mather, the agency handling these ads said that they had to use real people as time didn’t permit them to create animations as IPL was on its way. Generally, task is to make Animations look as Real as possible but they had it other way round. To project Real thing as Animated was their job! : )

The actors are basically small-bodied, thin women wearing the white fabric made of light matl. Zoozoos’ head is almost 7 times that of normal human head, to make body look relatively small. The facial expressions are made of rubber and then pasted on it. Shadows happen to be spray painted… :O  Everything sounds so unbelievable!! Doesn’t it?

The movements are hurried to make it look comical, this is achieved by filming it at 20fps (frames per second) instead of normal 25fps. The Zoozoo language is done by a trick too… these are no specific words that are identifiable in any language, the words are rubbish/garbage and the voice is tweaked by increasing the pitch and the speed of recording. Because Zoozoos are extraterrestrial, their language has to be alien too : )

These ads are a real treat introducing us to a parallel world of funny characters… and simplest expressions : ) There are a total of 29 ads, one released daily for over the entire IPL season.

If you haven’t watched them yet… Wake up, coz they are real thing happening.. Chuck IPL :) Catch them… HERE

If the link doesn’t work.. go to Youtube and in the Search box, write Vodafone Ads.

Goodnight/day

The Vodafone Bhabhi :P

Baffled? Confused?

Yes, this is about my friend/bro ‘X’ (name not disclosed on request), who uses a Vodafone Postpaid card.. : )

Since a couple of weeks he was getting countless missed calls from this girl ‘Y’ (name not disclosed, though, she,‘Y’ disclosed it to X). Missed Calls, SMSs, Calls, Sweet Talks and for everything, ‘X’ was at the receiving end : )

Rate of recurrence was taking no back seat.

A few of the SMSs:

Shayad Aapko achchha nahi lagta mujhse baat karna, but I like you. I’m waiting.                                                                            Mujhe aap pasand ho.

And this guy ‘X’ had little idea of what was going on, Befuddled and Frustrated (also due to submissions), he once called her back and asked what was the entire thing about …. In response, she gave X her Rediffmail email id and password to know who she was. X went online, logged in… Clueless about what to do further, X asked Y what to do next. As told by her he checked out her pics in the My Photos section (dunno since when rediff keeps such a section).Anyways…

Seeing the pics, X recollected her face..and BANG !!!!!!! she was the Vodafone Receptionist who took his payment at the store the other day. He fell down laughing.. X’s mom too couldn’t help but laugh !!  : D She confessed her feelings about him, that how she fell for him in the first look and how she is not interested in anything else, but just wanted him to know about it.

And my idiot friend/bro ‘X’ oblivious (or pretending so) of the entire thing didn’t even go and try having a chat with her the next day… Mad, Isn’t he? Hehe!*Dude, ask her out for a Coffee atleast ! :D*

BUT,

Now I know about Vodafone’s success in such a short time :P , nice way to get hold of customers n forever! And what did it take? Some miss(ed) calls? Some SMSs? Worth it if it assures you a customer X who will, ‘then’ceforth, always pay his bill on time : ) .. Cheers Vodafone! Great way to get Promising Customers ! :D

To find out X and Y , Solve the equations in your Algebra text book, class Tenth :P .. . Coz that’s the only way you get to know what is X and Y.

:P

Goodnight/day!
