I received this through email, and couldn’t hold myself from spreading it through Blog too. The info that follows is of prime importance for cell phone users and also car users. : ) And ofcourse, if you’re a thief, think 100times before stealing any handset.
Press *#06# and get this 15 digit no. called the IMEI no. (International Mobile Equipment Identity) which is original for your handset. Check the 7th and 8th digits in this IMEI no.
If they are 02 or 20, cell was assembled in Emirates and is of BAD quality.
if they are 08 or 80, cell was assembled in Germany and is of FAIR quality.
if they are 01 or 10, cell was manufactured in Finland & is of VERY GOOD quality.
if its 00, cell was manufactured in original factory and is of the BEST quality.
if its 13, cell was assembled in Azerbaijan, not only is of very BAD quality but also hazardous to health.
NOW READ CERTAIN THINGS WHICH YOU NEVER KNEW YOUR CELL PHONE COULD DO.
1)Cell phone – A LIFE SAVER !!!!
Before me mentioning anything here, try this out! “Keeping your cell phone’s keypad locked, press 112. The number could be dialed even when keypad was unlocked !????!!” Because, The Emergency Number worldwide for **Mobile** is 112. If you find yourself out of coverage area of your network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you.
2) Have you locked your keys in the car? Does you car have remote keys?
if you accidentally left your keys in your car, and the spare are at home, your cell phone can unlock your car, Read HOW !!
all you have to do is, call somebody at your home, ON CELL, ask the person to hold the spare key remote near the cell phone and press Unlock button. You need to hold your cell phone a foot away from the car door. And Bingo! The car is Unlocked !!! Distance is no issue, you can be hundreds of miles away and still get the car unlocked from somebody in your home.
** it works. We tried it on Wagon R from 5th floor.
3) Hidden Battery Power!
Imagine your cell battery is very low , you are expecting an important call and you don't have a charger. Nokia instrument comes with a reserve battery. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your cell will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.
4) Disabling a stolen mobile phone
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 # A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. when your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset. Blocking the handset renders cell completely useless, no matter whichever SIM is in. Doing this you probably won't get your phone back, but at least you now know that whoever stole it cannot use/sell it either.
IF EVERYBODY DOES THIS, NO ONE WILL EVER STEAL ANYBODY’S HANDSET.
GoodNight/Day!!!!
